kiji-mise (exposed wood).
The wooden base is coated three times with raw lacquer (ki-urushi) and then finished with a clear coating.
This piece is a collaboration between artisans from Wajima and Kaga (southern Ishikawa Prefecture).
The design is shaped to enhance the aroma, sweetness, and acidity of sake.
When poured, the interior decoration glimmers in gold, adding a festive and elegant touch.

Often associated with harvest and nourishment, the graceful curve of ripened rice represents both beauty and the foundation of daily life in Japanese culture.
