Hōjō Cup / Six Gourds (Mubyō)

This Hōjō-hai (Cup of Abundance) features the auspicious motif of six gourds—Mubyō—a visual pun in Japanese symbolizing "no illness" (mu-byō) and thus wishing for health and well-being.

Traditional patterns are delicately painted on the inside of this guinomi (sake cup), each imbued with heartfelt wishes.
Crafted in Wajima-nuri lacquerware, this cup develops a deeper luster and character with continued use.
Perfect not only for special occasions but also for savoring your daily evening sake at a relaxed pace.
